Packet app icon

Coming soon to iPhone and Android

A cloud locker
for APKs.

Every phone signed in to the same account sees the same locker, live. Android installs straight from the cloud. iPhone keeps a copy on demand and hands it to an Android phone — over the share sheet or your own WiFi.

Signed out, Packet still works as a local-only locker.

How it works

Add it once. Every phone has it.

Your APKs live in your Packet account. The cloud is the source of truth; files on a phone are a cache.

Add an APK

Pick one from Files with +, use “Open with Packet”, share it to Packet, or publish from your Mac.

Packet reads it

Label, real icon, version, SDKs, permissions and signing — all read out of the APK itself.

It's in your locker

Uploaded to your account and showing on every signed-in phone within about a second.

Install or hand off

On Android, tap Install, Update or Open. On iPhone, Share it or send it over WiFi with a QR code.

iPhone & Android

Same locker, same design, each phone doing what it can.

Both apps look the same screen for screen. Where the platforms differ, Packet plays to each one's strengths.

Packet for Android

Installs straight from the cloud

Download on demand with progress; every copy is sha256-verified before it's kept or installed.

  • Install, Update, Open — right from the list, with silent updates on Android 12 and later.
  • Update all — one tap when several apps have new versions.
  • “Field Notes 2.1 is ready” — a background check every 15 minutes, with optional auto-download on WiFi.
  • Signer check — “Different key — Android will refuse this update” before you try.
Packet on iPhone

Keeps a copy, hands it over

iOS can't install APKs, so Packet on iPhone is the carrier: it keeps a copy on demand and passes it to an Android phone.

  • Send over WiFi — your iPhone serves the APK on your network; the Android phone scans a QR code and downloads it in its browser.
  • Link code — the WiFi link carries a short secret, and a wrong code gets nothing.
  • Share sheet — AirDrop, Mail and more; several files can go as one zip.
  • Know when your apps update — push notifications and an app-icon badge.

Inside Packet

An app page for every APK.

Packet lists apps, not files — modelled on an App Store product page, with every version you've kept.

WiFi hand-off from iPhoneA QR code, a link with a code, and live progress per file.

The first two screens are illustrations drawn to match the app's layout; app names are examples. The third is a screenshot of Packet for Android.

APK inspector

Know exactly what you're installing.

Tap any version for everything Packet reads out of the APK — no guessing from file names.

  • Package and version — package id, versionName and versionCode.
  • Android targets — min, target and compile SDK, and native ABIs.
  • Permissions — the full list, with sensitive ones flagged.
  • Signing — the signing scheme, and on Android who signed it.
  • Copy details — the whole report, ready to paste.

Features

Everything a sideloader actually needs.

One locker, every phone

Sign in with email and password or a 6-digit email code. Nothing is deleted because another phone lacks it.

Live

A publish from your Mac or an upload from another phone shows up in the list within a second.

Apps with versions

The last 10 versions of each app, newest first, marked Latest, Installed or On this phone.

Real app icons

Launcher icons pulled from the APK — adaptive icons included — or a tinted monogram when there isn't one.

Activity across devices

Sends, WiFi hand-offs, publishes, uploads, downloads and installs, grouped by day and labelled with the device.

Hide, sort, search

Hide apps you don't need to see. Sort by name, date added or size. Search by app, package or version.

Duplicate detection

Two files with the same package id are flagged, and the older copy is marked.

Publish from your Mac

Push a build from your Mac with its release notes, and every phone on your account sees it arrive.

Light and dark

System, Light or Dark — every surface has a hand-picked dark counterpart, on both platforms.

Your APKs, on every phone.
